THE TEXAS RANGERS WILL HAVE A FRIED FOOD STAND.

THE TEXAS RANGERS WILL HAVE A FRIED FOOD STAND. I posted here about the TwinX, which is sold at the New York State Fair in Syracuse. The TwinX is: “a Twix candy bar stuffed inside a Twinkie, wrapped in four slices of bacon, battered, fried, drizzled with chocolate and finished off with powdered sugar”. Darren Rovell wrote here at the ESPN site about the plans of the Texas Rangers to have a fried food stand this season in “a tribute to famous items fried at the State Fair of Texas”. One item will be “the Fried S’mOreo, which is marshmallows breaded in graham cracker crust that is deep fried, mixed with two deep-fried Oreos on a skewer and drizzled with chocolate sauce and Cool Whip ($8)”.

The Rangers will also have a “Just Bacon” stand, which will sell “such items as candied bacon, bacon cotton candy and bacon beer”.

The ESPN article has photos of the Fried S’mOreo and the bacon cotton candy.

I really like fried Oreos (even though I don’t care for plain Oreos) and am somewhat intrigued by candied bacon, but the rest of it just seems wrong. I suppose I would taste it all though. Just a taste.

Upon further thought, the Fried S’mOreo sounds like a really good deal for $8, considering the markups for fair food.

  3. What, no surstromming candy apples?
