ANOTHER RELATIVE IN OLD CHICAGO.

ANOTHER RELATIVE IN OLD CHICAGO. I have posted here and here about how my relative Matthew Schaefer was directing the fire crews during the Chicago Fire and how we had a drinking glass which was the only family belonging which survived the Fire. My father told us several times at dinner about the relative who was a streetcar conductor in Chicago before 1900. He was self-taught and had a hobby horse. He believed that the earth was suspended like an apple from a stem at the North Pole. This theory explained the evolutionary record. When fossils were discovered, he considered them as confirmations of his theory. The fossils were of animals that had come down the stem. My father said that our relative debated this theory with his passengers throughout the day.

I’ve NEVER heard of this streetcar conductor relative with the North Pole theory! Are you sure you’re not pulling our collective legs? If this day were April 1st I wouldn’t believe you for a second. Then again, this casts the Phil Schaefer medical theories in a whole new light….

My father told us about him a number of times. He had a red mustache as I recall.
