STEROIDS COME TO COMPETITIVE BRIDGE.

STEROIDS COME TO COMPETITIVE BRIDGE. Nick called my attention to this article on the deadspin website by Dvora Meyers (February 28, 2019). The article reports that: “The World Bridge Federation announced today that Geir Helgemo, the world’s top-ranked bridge player, has been suspended after testing positive for two banned substances: synthetic testosterone and clomifene (a female fertility drug).”

The article adds that in 2015 “the World Anti-Doping Agency found prohibited substances in the systems of bridge players and anglers.”

Nick commented: “Steroid using…card players?”
