For Christmas, I gave Scott and Nick each a copy of “CRASHED” by Adam Tooze for Christmas on the theory that they both are interested in economics and politics, and “CRASHED” seems likely to be a definitive book about the The Great Recession. And the Great Recession may well be the defining economics event in their lifetimes just as the Great Depression shaped economic points of view for my generation. And it was highly recommended by an astute friend. I also asked Mary Jane to give me CRASHED for Christmas.
