SLEDGE HAMMERS AND PRINTERS.

SLEDGE HAMMERS AND PRINTERS. Apparently there are small businesses which will rent you a room for 15 minutes so you can break things to relieve stress. Along with the anger room they will provide you with breakables such as glasses and dishes.

And a sledgehammer.

And a printer.

A Google search on “sledge hammer stress “turned up several reports on the phenomenon from around the country, including this article by Christine van Dusen in Atlanta magazine. Van Dusen describes how she was given the opportunity to choose one electronic machine to attack. She says: “I saw a VCR, even a typewriter, but I knew from the start what I wanted: an inkjet printer. They had one that looked very much like mine at home.”

Van Dusen says that at the end of the session, “I felt good. Pleased. Calmed. Utterly triumphant, and ready for whatever stress would come my way that week. Even from my awful printer.

Next time, I’ll bring it with me.”

Mary Jane asked how much it costs—-“Maybe it’s worth it.”
