THE HIGH QUALITY OF AP COURSES.

THE HIGH QUALITY OF AP COURSES. The key to allowing any student to take a crack at a college level course in high school is the rigorous standard set by the AP tests, which will keep the material from being diluted. When I was in high school the courses were brand new (Google tells me that they were under way in 1955-56. I graduated in 1958.) The courses seem to me to be one of the great successes of American education. I have seen the kinds of questions that are asked on AP exams when Annalisa and Nick were doing them. They are very good exams.

My son did well in high school AP Physics, but struggled in college in more advanced physics courses because some of the core theoretical content in the basic college course seems to have been missing in the AP version.
