THE APPROACH TO STONEHENGE. I have to disagree with the student in the linked article. Our family found that Stonehenge itself was unknowable. But the approach to Stonehenge, with the valleys and the burial mounds, was magical.

    Magical and amazing indeed. The surrounding countryside had such a peaceful, sleepy beauty to it. It appeared untouched, save for the grazing sheep. I loved it, but at the same time I burned with the question, “Why have they not excavated these mounds? One could be the next Sutton Hoo!”
