TELLS IN TENNIS.

TELLS IN TENNIS. Years ago, I read an article about the importance of anticipation in tennis. The writers said that all top level pros started moving for the return well before their opponent hit the ball and that the best players (familiar names at the time) started moving earliest. An important advantage of the two-handed backhand is that it harder for an opponent to read. And Virginia Wade (which dates the article), who had wonderful strokes but never won as much as expected, was easier to read than other top players.
