DISENFRANCHISING VOTERS IN THE NAME OF GREATER DEMOCRACY. (COMMENT) It is ironic that the system for choosing nominees has disenfranchised so many voters because the slogan for the adoption of the current system was that primaries with delegates legally committed to a candidate would give voters a direct say in the nomination. In practice, it has turned out that most voters get no say of any kind.
