ZACH BRAFF AND SHAKESPEARE ON THE SOUND. A final note on Shakespeare on the Sound. Zach Braff played Romeo at Shakespeare on the Sound several years ago. Mary Jane played Zach Braff’s mother, Lady Montagu, who dies offstage before Romeo dies. We all used to joke that Shakespeare had left out the scene in which Lady Montagu has a highly dramatic reaction to the news that her son has died. At the time Mary Jane thought that Zach Braff was one of several very talented young actors in the show. She commented mosty on how unusually nice he and several of the other young actors were. Nobody in the show seemed to realize that he would become famous.
