SCANDINAVIAN CUSTOMS. Nick sent me a link to this amusing analysis of Scandinavian culture at the scandikitchen website. The first item surprised me. I had expected items on subjects such as favorite television shows—that the Eurovision song contest is: “Huge. Especially in Sweden, where they have six regional heats just to find a representative winner.” And I would not have been surprised to see items about interior decoration—every single Danish apartment looks the same, to the point where ‘We all have the same cutlery.”
However, the item selected to go first describes the rules for the right way to slice cheese. “It’s a thing. A big thing (especially in Sweden).” There are rules for the right cheese slicer to choose for different cheeses.
Those Scandinavians sure are cute!
