EIGHT YEARS.

EIGHT YEARS. Today is the eighth anniversary of the first post on this blog. I don’t know how or why I started to post every day, but I’ve only missed one day so far. I posted on that day, but the post disappeared, and all the drafts disappeared. The post and the drafts have never turned up.

I still think of the blog as in some way an extension of our family dinners when I was a boy, and the times afterward when we would all read newspapers and books, in the living room, calling out to each other about our reading without paying attention to whether anyone was listening.

Many of the posts are about things I have just learned or about things that I once learned that may not be true. I keep coming back to topics that interest me. The search feature reduces the number of times I repeat myself, but my family will tell you that I repeat myself a lot when I am not at a keyboard.

Thank you all for reading and commenting.

Again, I thank Annalisa and Lee Bryant for giving me this blog.
