HENRY VIII, THE TENNIS PLAYER. Henry VIII was an avid player of real tennis. This wikipedia article says that he had several courts built in his palaces. It also says: “It is believed that his second wife Anne Boleyn was watching a game of real tennis when she was arrested and that Henry was playing tennis when news was brought to him of her execution”

    There is a real tennis court at Hampton Court. I once saw a match winding up there. I gather people can sign up to play there.
