EVIDENCE FROM BEFORE THE BIG BANG. I began this blog four years ago with a post about how the background radiation from the Big Bang still shows up in the static on our radios. Now, as reported here, Sir Roger Penrose argues that there is evidence in the cosmic radiation that there has been a cyclical series of Big Bangs, each one giving rise to its own universe. The argument relies partly on the “high degree of order that was apparently present at the universe’s birth” Temperature variations in the cosmic microwave background are not random. Instead there are very clear concentric circles. I noted here that: “I have always had the naive view that of course the Big Bang destroyed all evidence of what came before.” Maybe it didn’t destroy all the evidence. (link from Instapundit)
