VERY LARGE PITCHERS.

VERY LARGE PITCHERS. I texted to Annalisa: “I have a long history of large pitchers I like. I think they are generally underrated. I think extra weight on a pitcher is like extra weight on an opera singer.” Annalisa responded: “I don’t think I realized your pattern of fondness for large pitchers. I remember well how much you liked Bobby Jenks (sp?).”

I then listed: Mickey Lolich, Wilbur Wood, Jonathan Broxton (I described him once to Mary Jane as looking like he had swallowed Bobby Jenks), and Bartolo Colon.

Nick commented: “There are too many to name. I can’t believe Dad left off Fernando Valenzuela.”

I added Sid Fernandez. Scott added David Wells.

A lot of great pitchers who were fun to watch.

That was a very fun conversation!

Then I asked you about large first basemen but we didn’t get as far with that one.
