THE TURNING TORSO (COMMENT). Dick Weisfelder in a comment sent a link to this article about how Santiago Calatrava’s Turning Torso building has replaced a 460 foot crane as the landmark for Malmo, a working class town in Sweden. I love the building (inspired by sculpture of a turning human), and I also love the practical success of the building. Calatrava also designed the Milwaukee Art Museum, which is #59 on this list of America’s favorite buildings. There is a good picture of the Turning Torso here, and pictures of the Milwaukee Art Museum here.
