QUESTIONING ALL NUTRIENT STUDIES.

QUESTIONING ALL NUTRIENT STUDIES. I see that I have posted ten times previously about John Ioannidis, now a professor of medicine and statistics at Stanford. Professor Ioannidis heads a new institute for research on how research is done. I posted on the institute here and also posted there on the reference in the Economist to an estimate in The Lancet that 85% of the world’s spending on medical research has been squandered on flawed studies.

Peter Whariskey quotes Professor Ioannidis: “Almost every single nutrient imaginable has peer reviewed publications associating it with almost any outcome. In this literature of epidemic proportions, how many results are correct?”
