THE GREEN BEAN CASSEROLE AND THANKSGIVING.

THE GREEN BEAN CASSEROLE AND THANKSGIVING. Thanksgiving wouldn’t be Thanksgiving without green bean casserole. Well, almost. The dish was part of our family Thanksgivings since the mid fifties, when it was invented. Thanksgiving is the unique American holiday and green bean casserole is a characteristic American dish.

It even has the virtue of puzzling people from other countries. I posted here about a French friend who planned to send a photograph of a green bean casserole to friends back in France to show the strange things that Americans eat. She has since become a convert to the green bean casserole.
