COULD 1000 US MARINES CIRCA WWII DEFEAT 20,000 SPARTANS? I posted here about an experiment testing the mobility of a knight in armor versus a modern day soldier. There are a number of similar questions. For example, could 1000 US Marines circa WWII defeat 20,000 Spartans? It turns out there is a website for resolving these issues: Core77.com, which features the Ultimate Epic Battle Simulator (link via Marginal Revolution). At the link is a video of a contest between 300 Jedi and 60,000 medieval footmen. It has drawn over 750,000 views. The site also shows videos of combat between Romans, Spartans, Jedi, penguins, tortoises, Chuck Norrises, Tyrannosaurus Rexes and zombies.
