Annalisa just sent me this link to a BBC article about a use of DNA in Finland to identify a car thief. A dead mosquito was found in a stolen car. The mosquito had recently sucked blood. The DNA from the blood in the mosquito matched the DNA of a man in the police registry.
Not to take away from how cool that is, but I’d have to think a defense attorney would have a field day with that one.
