MY FIRST ROMANCE NOVEL. So I picked up Katy’s first book, BY PROXY. The novel is premised on a Montana stature that permits marriages by proxy (it is often used by soldiers stationed abroad). I expected that there would be difficulties between the protagonists. In the story, the hero is from Chicago and flies to Montana to be a proxy representative. The heroine is a girl from Montana who will also be a proxy. There is a snowstorm, and the Chicagoan is delayed, and arrives at the courthouse, where the girl is waiting for him, after the judge has left for the weekend. The Chicogoan pulls out his wallet and says that maybe they can work something out….I laughed out loud.
