TWINS AND ESP. The question I have been asked the most about what it’s like to be a twin is whether my brother Elmer and I had ever experience ESP (extra-sensory perception). The answer has always been no. We certainly played enough hands of bridge as partners to establish that we had no better idea of what was in out twin’s hand than we did for anybody else we played with a lot. On the other hand, I knew a young woman who told me that had frequent ESP experiences with her identical twin sister. Once she had experienced strong abdominal pain and concluded correctly that her sister was going into labor. Another time the thought came to her that her sister was stuck at the top of a ferris wheel, and she was.
