“THE CHERISHING OF YOUR LIFE IS PART OF TRUE HAPPINESS.”

“THE CHERISHING OF YOUR LIFE IS PART OF TRUE HAPPINESS.” McCloskey’s answer to her question that I posted on yesterday is categorical. Of course you wouldn’t exchange your life for a happier one. She says: “The cherishing of your life is part of true happiness, and it comes with consciousness.”

I agree with McCloskey. I like being me. But I can still agree with Samuel Brittan’s sympathy for the happy pig because he was asking a different question. The person who I am does not—for the most part—lead an examined life.
