If the pictures at the links don’t persuade you, Dameron describes how the Ginger tower suggests a dancing woman: “Ginger, a feminine frame cinched at the waist and wrapped in a billowing glass dress, angles away from Fred in several directions at once, her spindly concrete legs poking through her dress….” Her partner Fred is simply “a masculine cylinder of concrete….” Apparently Frank Gehry is responsible for the “Fred and Ginger” nickname.
