SHAKESPEARE ON THE SOUND 2012: ROMEO AND JULIET. I have posted before about the anticipation that I experience each summer for the outdoor performances of Shakespeare on the Sound which take place only two blocks from our house. This year the order of performances is switched, with the Greenwich performances coming first (June 26 to July 8) and the Rowayton performances later (July 18 to 29). Here is the website for the production. The production will be “a dinner party among eight friends who have an annual tradition of reading a Shakespeare play on a gorgeous summer’s night.” The reading will merge into the play (as with Gatz). I think this should work well (I have always enjoyed play reading parties).
