WHITE SOX IN BASEBALL, PACKERS IN FOOTBALL (COMMENT). Nick commented that he watched the the Packer victory over the Bears in a bar with a number of Bear fans who seemed to be puzzled that he was a fan of the Chicago White Sox and yet was not a fan of the Chicago Bears. It all goes back to having a grandfather who spent time in Green Bay and on the South Side of Chicago. In fact, my father used to say that some of his relatives knew the man who founded the White Sox—Charles Comiskey, the “old Roman.” Here is a wikipedia article on Comiskey.
