“GOTTI CANARY TELLS OF MOB POWER PERKS.” One of the themes (or obsessions or hobby horses) of this blog is that, as Nick has pointed out, I don’t like privilege. “GOTTI CANARY TELLS OF MOB POWER PERKS.” is a headline in a recent article in the New York Post, which I like to say is the newspaper of record in our house. The canary is a mob associate of John “Junior” Gotti. The canary testified that of the $50 million to $75 million he made for the Gambino family, he kept $10 million. But he elaborated on how he loved the perks that came with the position. “When I went to restaurants, I didn’t wait. When I went to shows, I got the best seats.” He got custom-made suits at stores. He didn’t have to wait in line at the bakery. “People looked at me differently and they knew I was somebody.”
