MAX’S KANSAS CITY. Max’s Kansas City was a New York City night club and restaurant in the early 70’s. The restaurant menu featured chick peas for some reason. The night club was a hangout for artists like Robert Rauschenberg. Bruce Springsteen, David Bowie and Lou Reed and the Velvet Underground appeared there. Most notably, Max’s Kansas City was associated with Andy Warhol and his entourage.
