“BUNNY NO GO WHERE MAN WEAR FROCK.” One of the moments that reflected the culture clashes of the 70’s for me was the day when Bob Marley and the Wailers were scheduled to make an important appearance at Max’s Kansas City. The wikipedia article on the night club says that “Bob Marley and the Wailers opened for Springsteen there at the beginning of Marley’s career on the international circuit, in 1973”, and that may have been the occasion. I heard about the event from the point of view of a friend who was working on the arrangements. The problem was that Bunny Livingstone (later Bunny Wailer) refused to appear at Max’s, and the phrase that was associated with the problem was “Bunny no go where man wear frock.” I forget what happened.
