IT’S ALL IN THE GODFATHER AND ANIMAL HOUSE. I have two friends, both lawyers, who claim that all situations encountered in public life can be explained by a scene in either the GODFATHER movies or ANIMAL HOUSE. For example (referring to imdb) from ANIMAL HOUSE: “[T]his situation absolutely requires a really futile and stupid gesture be done on somebody’s part.” From the GODFATHER, the importance of maintaining a united front (“Never tell anyone outside the Family what you’re thinking again!”). And the phrase, “an offer he can’t refuse.”
