He told of being in court with a federal judge who had served on the bench for many years. The judge warned the courtroom (with no jury present) that the next witness was known as a confidence man. Five minutes after the witness began testifying, my friend was laughing in delight at the charm of the witness. And the judge was leaning forward with a huge smile on his face.
