BLUE STATES AND RED STATES (COMMENT). Dick Weisfelder comments that Indiana is a red state which would probably go blue if Evan Bayh were at the top of the ticket. I agree. This touches on one of my hobby horses, which I have cherished since 1960. Whether a state is blue or red depends a lot on who the candidates are. In 1960 Kennedy carried most of the states that Dewey had carried in 1948; Nixon carried most of the states that Truman had won in 1948.
