THE WOMEN OF BLETCHLEY PARK. I learned from the Economist obituary that two thirds of the workers at Bletchley Park were women—even though the movies I have seen about code breaking never seem to have more than one woman in the frame at a time. I also learned that upper class people like Janet Hughes were preferred for Bletchley Park because secrecy was crucial and members of the upper classes were considered better at keeping secrets.
