TREVOR NUNN’S COMPLETIST AGENDA.

TREVOR NUNN’S COMPLETIST AGENDA. This article by Alexis Soloski in the New York Times (February 22) points out that Trevor Nunn, who is directing the production of Pericles that I intend to see, has an agenda of his own. Soloski says: “It might seem that, at 76, Mr. Nunn…has done it all. Not quite.”

Nunn has directed 35 of Shakespeare’s 37 plays, with plans to do the two remaining ones—A Mindsummer Night’s Dream and King John. Soloski notes that Nunn does not count the Two Noble Kinsmen because it was not in any of the folios, providing weighty support for my decision not to include the Two Noble Kinsmen on my list of plays to see.
