DESIGNING TYPEFACES FOR COMPUTERS AS WELL AS HUMANS. One of Frutiger’s great triumphs is a typeface that I have found almost impossible to read. It’s the typeface used for the numbers at the bottom of a check. Although I have trouble reading the numbers, other people can read them, and the Linotype article says that: “there is no typeface which is more legible for computers.”
