THE SECOND HALF OF MEASURE FOR MEASURE.

THE SECOND HALF OF MEASURE FOR MEASURE. I posted here about another Shakespeare play where there is a lot of maneuvering in the second half to convert a tragic confrontation with death into a happy comedy ending. In Measure for Measure the second half brings us from “Ay, but to die, and go we know not where;/ To lie in cold obstruction, and to rot; / This sensible warm motion to become/ A kneaded clod….” to a final scene with multiple marriages.
