SUGGESTIONS FOR BASEBALL BROADCASTS.

SUGGESTIONS FOR BASEBALL BROADCASTS. First, an improvement I would like to see on televised broadcasts of baseball games is an establishing shot when each batter comes to the plate to show how the defense is set up. The new shifts change the game dramatically, and we need to see where the fielders are.

Second, I would like to see a report on which hitters have forced defenses to abandon an extreme shift against them by hitting balls into the gaps in the defense—bunting or simply hitting the ball the other way.

Third, I would like to see statistics for individual players on the extent to which shifts have reduced their batting averages (expressed in terms of slash lines—BA/OBA/SA).
