CAPS AND SHRIMPS.

CAPS AND SHRIMPS. I have another story that is like Adam Gopnik’s. It happened when I was shopping with Annalisa in a Monoprix in Paris. Annalisa was about 12. She was wearing a White Sox cap. We encountered another father and a daughter of about Annalisa’s age. And she was also wearing a White sox cap. I searched for something appropriate to say about this remarkable coincidence. The French word for cap is “cassette” and the French word for shrimp is “crevette”. I wound up saying “Our daughters have the same shrimp.”

Annalisa loves telling the story.
