NATE SILVER HAS BECOME A VERB.

NATE SILVER HAS BECOME A VERB. Nick and I used to look at Nate Silver’s PECOTA projections in Baseball Prospectus when we were making decisions about fantasy baseball players. Now, here is an article by Stephen Galloway in the Hollywood Reporter about the decision to make the movie of Les Mis. The decision process included research by a staffer who performed “proprietary computer simulations to estimate box office, examining data from 5,000 other films….”

Says Galloway: “In other words [the staffer] tried to Nate Silver the movie’s chances of success.”
