A MODEL CRITIC—CHEESEBURGERS. I think this review by Daym Drops of Five Guys cheeseburgers is brilliant criticism which should be a model for movie critics, art critics, and literary critics. What I want from a critic is help in appreciating something—say, a poem or a play. I said in this post: “if a critic can make me like something better–appreciate something more– I am better off.” This commentary makes me understand cheeseburgers better, with insights not only into cheeseburgers, but into bacon, french fries, ambiance, and even paper bags. It enhances my life.
