HAVING SOMEBODY ELSE DO IT.

HAVING SOMEBODY ELSE DO IT. It will have occurred to you that a doctor or lawyer could have some of the administrative chores done by employees or, if he is part of a large firm, by colleagues. A friend of mine who worked for the same large corporation that I did remarked on several occasions that it was the managers in the corporation who received the greatest rewards and then added how lucky we were that that was the case because otherwise we would have to do more of that kind of work. Kinda like how people are willing to pay good money (at least they ought to) to hire a housekeeper. It’s rare for people to enjoy tedious housework, although I have heard of it being soothing to some, so it makes sense for them to pay for someone else to do it. I suppose I tend not to think of it that way with regards to administrative chores, because I assume that since they’re not “intellectual”, they must be “easy”. But things are not always easy just because they’re boring.
