BASEBALL STREAKS AND MUSCLE MEMORY. I posted here on the thought that for baseball players “a swing results from a complicated series of muscular movements and sometimes hitters get it right and get their muscle memory to repeat that swing.” Perhaps the simpler the swing, the easier to repeat that swing. Joe DiMaggio was considered to have a very simple, efficient swing. I once heard Ted Williams praising the simplicity of Paul Molitor’s swing by comparing it to DiMaggio’s swing.
