AREAS OF CONSIDERABLE PSYCHIC MURKINESS AND ODDITY—MY FATHER’S VIEW. My father was born in Green Bay, Wisconsin in 1903, the era and the place that WISCONSIN DEATH TRIP is about. Once, when my parents were visiting us in New York in the seventies, I showed my father WISCONSIN DEATH TRIP and asked him what he thought of the crimes and tragedies shown in the book. He looked through the book and and shrugged and said that you could find these kinds of things anywhere; you could find stories like these within a mile of where we were. Since we were standing in an apartment on 14th Street in New York City in the seventies, I immediately agreed.
