HOW COOKING SHAPED THE HUMAN BRAIN. I posted here about speculation that cooking was a great labor saving invention for early man because of the reduction in time spent chewing. Here is speculation that the discovery of cooking led to a dramatic increase in human brain capacity. The argument is that digesting food that is eaten raw requires a lot of energy (calories). Eating cooked meals freed up energy for human brains. (link via Instapundit).
