ENTRY FORM FOR THE 2008 WIFE-CARRYING WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP. I posted here about wife-carrying competitions. Instapundit linked to the official rules and entry form here for the 2008 world championships for wife carrying in Finland. In addition to the Finnish couples, there will be competitors from China, Australia, Japan, Lithuania, USA, Ireland, Sweden, and Great Britain. There are preliminaries in Australia and Estonia. There is a team event. Mary Jane asked if there is a husband-carrying event. Unfortunately there isn’t one, and, also unfortunately, there is no separate event for seniors.

I hope no wives are being put on starvation diets in order to gain an unsporting advantage. No husband carrying, you say? I smell an opportunity.
As Phil and I weigh about the same, I doubt I’m in any danger of being carried over ANYTHING head first. Just the thought of being tipped upside down and my sinuses flooding with pressure and fluid! I’d bite him in the leg just to get dropped.
